SAVE THE LIFE OF SAKINEH MOHAMMADI ASHTIANI

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, an Iranian Azeri woman convicted of adultery, is now under the immediate threat of being executed under Islamic Sharia law. An Iranian activist said she could be executed as early as Wednesday, citing sources close to the court. Many people already appealed to the Iranian authorities for an act of clemency and compassion towards Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani. We join here the words of the letter that the Italian human rights organization EveryOne sent to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; the Minister of Justice, Morteza Bakhtiari; and the Head of the Judicial System of Iran, Ayatollah Sadegh Ardeshir Larijani to ask for an act of grace towards Sakineh.

Milan, September 28th, 2010

Hon. President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad;

Hon. Minister of Justice of the Islamic Republic of Iran Morteza Bakhtiari;

Hon. Head of the Judicial System of Iran, Ayatollah Sadegh Ardeshir Larijani

Honorable Authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran,

as pointed out by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, millions of people throughout the Western world - who consider capital punishment brutal and cruel, and an extreme form of revenge against a human being considered guilty of a serious crime - have appealed for the life of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, while at the same time support for Teresa Lewis, sentenced to death in Virginia (USA) and executed on September 23rd of this year was not as half as vociferous.

Now you, the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and people inspired by a great religion based on love of life, have the opportunity to make a first step to show greater compassion, greater attention towards human life than the Western world, in which a great number of violations of human rights are still today taking place and many innocent lives, including children, women and the sick are lost due to unjust persecution. Appealing for your compassion, mercy and love for human life, EveryOne Group kneels before you and asks for an act of clemency towards Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.

In the hope that we have reached your hearts, and that you will grant an act of compassion towards Sakineh, we wish to thank you for your kind attention.

for EveryOne Group,
the co-Presidents
Roberto Malini, Matteo Pegoraro, Dario Picciau

I BEG AND PRAY TO GOD, THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL

SAVE THE LIFE OF SAKINEH MOHAMMADI ASHTIANI

EVERY HUMAN BEING IS IMPORTANT

IT WILL BE A LITTLE STEP TOWARDS A BETTER WORLD WHERE ALL PEOPLES AND HUMAN BEINGS CAN LIVE TOGETHER IN NON-VIOLENCE AND PEACE, DIGNITY, PROSPERITY AND JUSTICE
